About Us

FOCUS stands for Families Of Christ United through Schooling.

Mission Statement

FOCUS  members are committed to building each other up  in the Lord in order  to become better wives and to effectively raise  Godly, well educated  children.

“Older  women likewise are to be reverent in  their behavior, not malicious  gossips, nor enslaved to much wine,  teaching what is good, that they  may encourage the young women to love  their husbands, to love their  children, to be sensible, pure, workers at  home, kind, being subject to  their own husbands, that the word of God  may not be dishonored.”  (Titus 2:3-5 NASB)

Doctrinal Statement

  • The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the only inspired,   infallible and authoritative Word of God and that it has supreme   authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet.   1:20-21)
  • The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God   eternally existing in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that they are equal in power and glory. (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14)
  • God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal   spirit, perfect in holiness (Isaiah 6:6), wisdom, power and love Rom.   11:33-36). We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the  affairs  of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He  saves  from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ (Rom.   8:26-28; 10:9).
  • Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man,   (John 1:1; 1:14), was born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18), sinless in His life  (Heb. 4:15), died vicariously on the cross as a substitute for  sinful  men (Heb. 9:15), and rose bodily from the grave (John 20:1-9,  24-31). We  believe in His ascension to the right hand of the Father  where He makes  continual intercession for believers until His bodily  return to this  earth in power and glory. (Acts. 1:11, Heb. 9:28; Matt.  24:30)
  • Regeneration
We believe that all people are sinful by nature and   are under condemnation (Rom. 3:23; 5:12; 6:23) and can only be forgiven   by the expression of repentance and trust in Jesus as Savior (John  3:16)  brought about by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit (Titus   3:5-7).
  • The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world   of sin, righteousness and judgment, and who regenerates, sanctifies,  and  empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe it is the Holy   Spirit who calls and indwells every believer in Christ and that He is  an  abiding helper, teacher and guide. (Rom. 8:1-17)
  • Creation
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth   and everything in them in six literal 24-hour days. Gen. 1:1; 1:5)

Code of Conduct

We  believe that parents are responsible for the training and  education of  the children God has entrusted to them. Each parent stands  accountable  to the Lord for the course that is charted and followed. We  will be  supportive and respectful of the different methods of education   employed by each family.

We agree  to maintain discipline of our own children while involved  in any group  activities, outings or field trips. We will be respectful  to our hosts  on any given outing. All group activities will be in  keeping with  Christian beliefs and standards of conduct in order to  bring glory to  God.

We agree to maintain a  Christian organization, reflecting godly  morality, principles, and  love; desiring as a home education group to  honor and glorify our Lord  Jesus Christ, and be a light to the world.

We  respect and agree not to compromise the privacy of our  homeschooling  families, including making available to those not in our  membership the  names, phone numbers and addresses of those families in  our group  without their prior, expressed consent.

We  recognize that information shared at group meetings should be  regarded  as "informational only" and not suggested as "legal" advice.
